Forums mIRC Help Old version of mirc does not support /cnick

Hi, i was trying to setup a nick colour but the version i am currently using does not has /cnick command added yet as it is a very old version. Any other way to put a special colour on a nickname on the namelist please ?

/cnick was added in version 5.9, in 2001. is there any reason why you are running the old version?

There are some reason i am using this version. The addon scripts only worked on this version and not others. Is there any way to have /cnick in another way please ?

There are a small number of newer features beyond 5.8 which can be scripted, but colorizing the nicklist isn't one of them.

If there are "reasons" to still use v5.8, perhaps you can ask questions related to that reason, in hopes that someone knows of a solution which solves that "reason" while enabling the use of a newer version.

no luck with finding out if your addon can work with a newer version than 5.8, or whether there's another solution for that?

You should not, under any circumstances, use older versions of mIRC.
