Thanks for your bug report. I see what you mean. This is tricky to fix because mIRC is using a custom text/background colour theme for the About dialog. It should really use the Windows theme. I originally implemented it this way because it was difficult snychronizing the colours/transparency of all of the components of the About dialog (icons, graphics, text, background, web page colors loaded from the website, and so on...). I have put some work into updating/synchronizing all of these and it should hopefully look better in the next version.
