I want to hide this line in the status window.

Alt +o -> IRC -> Options -> Check the "Hide ping? pong! event"

I already have is turned on and it does not help

Actually this reply is because you are sending the /ping command to the server and getting back the pong response , check into your addons to see if there exists any /ping command.
