This may have been posted previously, and it has ... my apologies. I did not locate this using a search.

When I use this command:

/aop nickname 3 #channelname
(with or without the -w switch)

it adds the information correctly.. except for the channel. When I look it up in the address book, the gui shows the channel name to be where the 'Network or server address' is supposed to be. That nickname wont get Op status until I move that entry to the channel box.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks,

Listner

I forgot to mention that I did try this, and it worked correctly:

/aop -w $address(nickname,3) #channelname

So it looks like the problem might be with the 'type' ?

This is using mIRC 6.03 running on an older Win98 system.

Thanks again,

Listner

From the helpfile:
/aop [-rw] <on|off|nick/address> [#channel1,#channel2,...] [type] [network]

Note that the [#channel1,#channel2,...] goes before the [type]

if you /aop nickname #channelname 3 it works perfectly.

It's official then: I must have a bit of dyslexia.

Thank you very much codemaster.
