Forums Connection Issues irc.twitch.tv 6667 Connection help! Please!

Greetings,

I am pretty new to using MIRC but I had previously not had issues when I was connecting to twitch. At this time I am getting the following:

* Connecting to irc.twitch.tv (6667)
-
* Unable to connect to server (Connection timed out)
-
* Connect retry #1 irc.twitch.tv (6667) (dns pool)

Any ideas how to fix this?

it was a firewall issue. I was logging in on a work network once I switched to a different one everything was good.
