Forums Connection Issues People in channel not showing up

Firstly, I apologize if this has already been covered.

So i'm trying to run a bot on my pc and it needs to recognize that the channel owner is in the chat in order for most of the text commands to work. However sometimes the mIRC client only shows my bot in the channel and not the rest of viewers. If viewers type in the chat it still shows up in mIRC chat but it is not registering people in the channel. Any ideas?

And yes i'm running mIRC as an admin. Thanks ahead of time!
