Hi, when chat messages are created, no alerts are being received either by sound or visually. How come?

The Sounds options has zero sounds; are there no defaults shipped with this product? Are there other visual aids such as flashing icon or some such?

No documentation can be found on this topic. Please note I use a Mac, I'm doing this to help team mates who are required to use an IRC channel and can't figure this out. I will need a screen cap if this isn't straightforward since I can't try it out myself!

Thanks,
VC

I assume you're using wine? mIRC is only barely supported under wine.

mIRC comes with default settings-- one of them is Sounds being enabled by default. You should see that [x] Enable sounds is checked in Alt+O -> Sounds. If not, enable it. Then make sure all of your events have "beep" (or the ones you want). If typing /beep doesn't work with sounds eanbled, this is a wine issue. Also try toggling the internal beep setting, because one might not be supported.

He said that it is for helping someone else, that he was using a mac and therefore couldn't test it, probably not a wine issue.

I'll have my team member try this out.

BTW, Vicci is short for Victoria - not a 'he' [answering two posts at once.

Thanks!
