Hi, I was wondering if I was allowed to use mIRC on my computer at work? I have a personal license but the admin at work says we can't use personal licenses on our PCs. I can't see anything about commercial use in the license agreement either.

I could be wrong here, but I'm pretty sure that your license is good anywhere for your personal use. That being said, your work can choose to not allow you to use it there regardless of what is allowed in mIRC's licensing.

My understanding of the EULA agrees with Riamus2's post.

Simply, if you want to use mIRC at work, bring your own personal laptop and connect using a WIFI base. They are getting quite popular and available in most (if not all) cities.

The name Jethro has nothing to do with the EULA.
I made a mistake and used Jethro_'s name where I should've used Riamus2, and even then the name of the person has nothing to do with the EULA.

My post, and I thought it was clear, was to indicate I agreed with Riamus2's assessment of the situation based upon my own reading and understanding of the EULA

Consider the possibility (probability) that your employer doesn't want you on IRC during working hours, but, rather, wants you doing your employer's work.

Without knowing the initial poster's intentions you shouldn't assume things. Maybe he wants to write scripts that help with work (in a similar way to macros).

Hi there,
we want to use mirc in our commercial environment? Is there a way to get a company-license or something likewise?
I was looking for some contact information on the mirc homepage but didn't find anything useful.

Thanks in advance

You can contact khaled@mirc.com for information on licensing it commercially.
