It is becoming quite common where users connecting to IRC are connecting via SSL, much of the new IRC service software supports SASL authentication as well as service packages such as Atheme. This would be beneficial in the area of security where users can authenticate to services (NickServ et al) via SASL.

What does everyone think of this idea? Does anyone have any input? The more input we have the more likely that this feature will come to existance.

This is a fallacy, as Khaled makes all decisions as to what does and doesn't go into mIRC.
The amount of input has little or no effect.

One of the most requested items is for emoticons, and mIRC still doesn't have them, though I seem to recall Khaled stating (unusually) that they are on his list of things to do.

BTW: You really should allow a few days for people to be able to read/post in regards to your idea, not just a few hours.

I didn't want to post it here because the script needs some work, but a working SASL authentication script that does not require any extra DLLs can be found here in the scripts section of this forum.
