Hi, ppl.
I've just registered and I'm not quite sure this is the place to ask this, but I could not find anywhere else, so I hope someone can help me.
I'm tryin' to set up Omenserve 2.71. I'm running mIRC and Windows 7. I could only install the script after I copied mirc.exe to C:\Users\My user\AppData\Roaming\mIRC\ and set OS to be installed in this same folder. Even then, the list is not properly generated... I can only get the relation of the files accessing C:\Users\My user\AppData\Roaming\mIRC\OmenServe\ListMagic\List name\nicelist. But it has no header...

Well, any help is welcome. Thanks in advance!

P.S.: I tried OS's site, but is sort of offline (says "gone fishing" etc.).

DJ_Sol, thanks for your help.
I instead installed mIRC in C:\Users\My user\AppData\Roaming\mIRC\ and then installed Omenserve. Worked like a charm. smile I'm not sure I haven't tried your suggestion, but if I did it haven't worked, because this was the only way I could make mIRC + Omen work for me.

Thanks again for your suggestion, it gave me the idea to set mIRC install folder to AppData\Roaming\mIRC.

Best,
Usurario

One new problema I just noticed: Files do not appear in "Play" tab (Old Interface). Any idea on why this is happening?

Thanks in advance

1. Install mIRC in C:\mIRC
2. MOVE the mIRC folder in C:\Users\My user\AppData\Roaming\ to C:\ (it will ask if you're sure you want to, tell it yes)

This will put all of your install in C:\mIRC

3. UNZIP the omenserve 271 zip file to C:\mIRC
4. run OmenServe_Setup.exe (found in C:\mIRC)

You should have no more problems after this.

I use the following in various combinations (all working)
Windows 7 x64
mIRC v6.35 (installed in C:\mIRC) AND mIRC v7.14 (installed in C:\mIRC7)
OmeNServe v2.71
Invision 3.2 (July '10)

I followed your instructions, CtrlAltDel, but got the following message when opened mIRC:

* /loadbuf: unable to open file 'C:\mIRC\OmenServe\listmagic\default\SDfiles.txt' (line 1151, OmenServe.mrc)

And I still can't play random files (also, I verified OS is not sending files when requested).

make a new text file (empty) in that folder and name it SDfiles.txt

evidently the copy of the installer you obtained did not have it.

You can't play (or send) files until you have created a list.

Ok, I did so.

But now I can't even generate lists... I add directories to be listed, but as soon as I leave the section for adding directories they disappear... and "generate selected list" button is always disabled...

I'm considering moving to an older version of OS... it used to work better for me... Do you happen to have an older version of the script? (Before it started to be distributed with an installer.)

Thank you for your help.

I am still learning this stuff. Can you give me the steps to set up the omenserve script so I can be able to share my files?

Thank you.

It means that the DNS server wasn't able to back-check your connection to ensure that the IP address and the host address both agreed with each other. It is not anything to worry about.

I think not, as the script can't receive the information to know which file(s) are being requested.
