I am very knew to this mIRC, but really enjoying it.

my question is:
I am going away for 4 months until April 2010 , SO what happens to my Hostname etc,and how do i connect back in.

I am registered so can I transfer the mIRC to my laptop, if so then I can continue having fun.

Thanks....................michael

Yes, you can just install mIRC on your laptop and register it again from there.

If by hostname you mean inti@Swift-54CB32F4.prtc.net then that only changes with your internet provider. If you mean your nickname then nicknames drop after 60 days, meaning that it goes "unregistered" and you'd have to re-register that name with the /ns register password password email email command.

To connect you can just do /server -m irc.swiftirc.com -j #chan1,#chan2, etc. That can be set up in the options menu from mIRC (alt + o). From there you can choose wich server, ports, channels to connect from and to.

You don't need to re-register all you need to do is put up the Registration Code that was sent to your email on the Register... button inside the Help drop down menu in mIRC. This number will work with any version of mIRC, so it's a 1 time registration in.
