I tried to search for this and ask in some different channels, but it does not seem to exist, so here it goes.

I would like to see the ability to use an SSL connection, if one exist. Once SSL is installed, I would like to simply join a channel and have it be secure, rather than having to find the correct port and re-connect.

If you are already connected to a network, and then install SSL, you have to either maintain your current connection (which is not secure) or disconnect and then reconnect using a SSL port.

Not all networks have ports set up for SSL, yet others only allow SSL connections.

You can't have a secure connection to one channel, and an insecure connection to another channel using the same network connection, due to the fact that the connection isn't literally to the channel, but the server.

There is no way for mIRC to detect if a server supports SSL. Often it's on port 6697 and/or 7000, but not always.
You will have to read the server's /motd to find out.
