Hi, I have a question regarding cgi:irc and was hoping someone could provide me with an answer. I'm trying to access a network using a local irc client such as mIRC, but every time i try to connect i get the following message. Closing Link: (Not allowed to connect). I know I have the correct address because I obtained it after connecting through the websites cgi:irc client. I have no problems connecting to the network through their cgi irc client, but when i try to connect using mIRC thats where the problem is. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening, and how to workaround it?

Sounds like that network is forcing it's users to use their client. Personally that's not something I would want to do, but it is their decision.
Your choices are: 1) Use their CGI client
2) Use a different network.

The network is probably sending out a request, something like a ctcp <nick> version and disconnecting the client if they get back something other than the response that their client issues.
