Forums General Discussion New user having trouble using mirc.

Hello to whom my being to help me. I am new to using mirc and i guess that i have to change some settings are something to download itms from xdccing.com. I had a roommate that also had this progam a while back and once he paid for he started downloading with no problem. anyways i continue to get a message that says "to register to a nick" or something of the short HLP PLEASE....

1) Regarding using mIRC to download: Read this sticky
2) Regarding registering a nick. On most networks, type /msg nickserv register <password> <e-mail address>
2a) Replace <password> with a password of your choice. On some networks this is case sensitive.
2b) Replace <e-mail address> with a valid e-mail address that you have access to.
2bi) The e-mail address may be used by the network to issue a letter with a confirmation code.
3) None of this has anything to do with paying for mIRC.
