At the moment mIRC has the following behavior when you connect to a server and it starts to auto join channels.

Example :

When you join 15 channels on start and you try to start typing in the 3rd channel. It just continues opening channels and makes them active. This results on your line of text being typed over the 12 left over channels in bit and pieces.

Would be nice if there is a function to stop this behavior so that when you start typing in 3rd channel it just opens the remaining 12 as none active windows ( aka on the background until you select them )

Sometimes you just want to start of typing straight away in one channel and its quite annoying that it keeps switching the active channels while you do that.

There is the -n switch and a check box in the favorites (when adding/editing an entry) which causes the channels to open in minimized mode. When you see the channel you want to type in open inthe switch or toolbar, click the channel and it will become un-minimized and you can type your message(s) while the rest continue to open in minimized mode.

While this doesn't 100% cover your request, it's a currently available option.

True but i don't join channels from my favorites box thing. I find that an annoying little no good box \0/ I join all my channels from within my script and putting them in my favorite will only make me do double efforts to put them in the script and then put them in the favorites to just minimize them.

Might be an nicer idea to and a -n switch to the /join command as well for scripting purposes.

As I stated, the -n switch already exists.
