Mirc's internal MP3 player seems to sound very crackly playing mp3 with bitrate > 128 kbps. Can this be improved?
Friends have checked also and wimamp , media player plays tracks fine. we all seem to agree it the mirc player.

Can whatever it is be updated to improve sound quality?

there is actually no internal mp3 player for mirc it uses the existing defualt or windows media player to play your sounds ..... i think tho this has been an issue for some ppl in the past , altho i do not know what they have done to possibly resolve it ...... u might wanna try searching the forums and expanding the date range and using MP3 as your search base ... also i think most would have been posted in bug reports forum if that helps

altho the only time i had a similar prob was when i refused to let mediaplayer access the web, some ppl have found the prob was their mediaplayer codecs. Nimo has also caused some probs, see this thread

I have WMP9, when I play my mp3s in media player, they sound fine. When I play them in mIRC, they sound like garbage. This is why I encourage people to do like I did; realize mIRC is a chat program, not an mp3 player.

This was extremely helpful , althought the acceleration did not work for me, I tweaked the Audio Codec Proirties, and this did improve the sound quality noticably....

Thanks !
