Sum1Important S	For example I don't want my real hostname, username, etc to be shown, how can I enter an IRC channel while hiding or changing all of this? Thanks.

You can find a network that hides your host info (I believe QuakeNet might do this), but there is no way for mIRC to do this, and if you can't choose your network you will be out of luck.

You usually have to have a registered nick with the network, and then have to request a vhost either in the help channel (usually #help) or a specific vhost channel. Details on the availability and method of obtaining a vhost is usually available in the general help channel.

The menu in the options wouldn't let me.

argv0 Hoopy frood A Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 3,641 Montreal, QC, Canada	Note that you can use any full name you choose regardless of the network, since, naturally, there is no way for them to verify this. In fact, it's quite uncommon for people to use a real name in that field.

RusselB Hoopy frood R Joined: Aug 2004 Posts: 7,168 Ontario, Canada	Using the menu option requires you to be disconnected from all IRC networks, as was previously stated, however, you can change your fullname while connected by using /fullname <name you want used> See /help /fullname
