Hi all,i used to use mirc lots years ago & only decided to re-use it so i can keep in contact with friends across the water etc,but ive stumbled across a few problems, one being i cannot send files? but if i use other channels i can recieve but again cannot send to my friends who join those channels? now ive checked firewall etc etc but that is all fine, now i have changed my router but if i remember rightly all the settings are the same, now i know mirc has come on over the years,so maybe im missing something somewhere? so hopefully someone can help me on this matter, its just so frustrating knowing i can recieve from others over the mirc network but not from friends.....Thank you....Abb, oh & sorry but ive tried it on two different machines, one being a xp home all upto date etc & the othe being vista home premium also up to date...
& happy new year to you all.
ps it keep coming up with connection failed, ive forwarded ports 1024 to 5000 but still no good turned all av & firewall stuff of...

Are you positive your server allows dcc?

I'd suggest starting at the beginning again.
go to portforward.com and find your router/modem there. Follow the instructions including the part about Setting up a Static IP Address with your router and you should be able to make it work.

Also understand, in order to send files with spaces in the path (or filename) you CANNOT have double spaces in either the path OR filename, and you need to put the path/filename in quotes when using the /dcc send command (quotes not needed to drag & drop files).

maybe the person you are trying send files to is not accepting the file types you are trying to send.Have them check there settings. Next have them try and type /dccallow +yournickhere and see if you can send then. this allows you bypass file types not allowed by the irc server
