Hey,

I'm having kind of a problem when I use Mirc to download something. Whenever I reach 360kb/s my router gives out on me and reboots.I'm guessing it's because I'm trying to get more from my internet line than is permitted. This happens with every program I use like Utorrent for example so it has nothing to do with Mirc itself.
I was wondering if there is an option in Mirc that can limit my download speed to like 300kb/s, like Utorrent has.

Thanks in advance!

1) Please note this sticky

2) Searching the help file, I found
Quote:
Total Max. Cps
This limits the maximum cps used by all dcc sends being sent by a fileserver.
The /dcc maxcps <N> command can be used to changed the Max Cps value on the fly.

Note that 300kb/s is about 30000 cps

Thanks for the quick reply, I really appreciate your efforts!

I know that Mirc is a chat program but I often use it to send and receive files to and from some friends ;-) That's why I wanted to limit it.

I've tried the /dcc maxcps 30000 code in the main window but when I receive a file it still keeps downloading at 360 KB/s so it doesn't seem change.

You can only control what you're sending -- not receiving.

Perhaps you should look into updating/fixing the router software as all major names constantly are releasing new firmware/or a workaround for known issues. Being limited to 2.8Mb would really tick me off personally.
