I downloaded MIRC on to my new computer.
I used my registration number and everything.
But when I try to connect it says bad username.
Why can't I connect? Anyone have any clues?

Your username has nothing to do with your mIRC registration.

Usually networks that give this message indicate what kind of thing is wrong, example using upper case letters in a username, rather than all lower case. Also some characters can't be used.

The most common problem that brings up this error is the usage of upper case letters in the username.

Your "username" can be your nick, or more likely, your choice of identd username. Alt-O > Connect > IdentD > User ID. **NOTE** If you have the box checked there to use your e-mail as the ID, you will have to either uncheck that box or else go into Alt-O > Connect and change the part of your e-mail that appears before the @.

Avoid things that may look like spambots... kljhkjh or ASKJFD or khfdg87 or things like that. Just try different things until you find one that you can connect with.

Thanks so much to those that helped me get connected.
Now I'm back in the swing of things or playing trivia
