Twice now this has happened to me. After my system locks up, and I am forced to just turn off power, when I return to mIRC my remotes, variables, users list is empty. Some (not all of my Options are changed)... both times my DCC settings have to be reset.

It appears that part of the mirc.ini file is being lopped off when this happens...

Is this a result of my crashes... or do I have some malicious virus/trojan or something in mIRC that is causing my crashes? I am very worried about this.

I am running XP SP1 HE, mIRC 6.03 on a P4 2GHz machine.

Please let me know if anyone has encountered something like this.

That happens because XP automatically truncate files upon rebooting after a hard shutdown. I don't remember the exact syntax of the file names, but they're still around. I think they're called .chk, so you should check for that on your windows drive (C:\). Rename them to .txt and see what's inside 'em.
