I have found myself on many occasions wishing to put a comma directly after my name in a /me statement. For instance, /me, in all his glory, pwns you. Obviously, /me, is not a recognized command. I tried to fix this with an alias: /me, /describe $chan $+ , $$1-

However, that didn't work. Anyone know how to do this?

Can't be done on the sender's end.

There's no way to do it. The nickname isn't part of the message/action itself, that's just the way mIRC and other clients display who sent the action. It's the same as the way that "<nickname>" isn't actually part of the message when you see "<nickname> some regular message here" - it's just mIRC's way of telling you who's saying what.

Spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, and stupid comments are intentional.

Right, hence why I always do /me 's blah.

/describe $+ 's or $+ anything becomes an invalid command.

Same thing why we can't make.

<Nick> Word

To be.

<Nick>Word

We could change it on the receiving side's end, but not on the sending side's end. But who cares to do that?

You can't get rid of the space. You can put a comma there, but it will have a space. The only way around that is to make a custom channel window for yourself that shows it without the space. Of course, that has no affect on what others see... and I personally don't think it's worth the effort just to remove a space.

As a note, if you put a comma, people understand even with a space.

Speaking of which, when would you actually use a comma after your own nick in an action? I'm sure there's something out there, but I can't think of any. I can see using 's or whatever after your nick... but a comma? Sure, you'd use a comma after someone else's nick, but your own? Again, I'm probably just not thinking of the right scenarios.
