Forums mIRC Help Window buffer, not buffering 2000 lines?

Okay this is strange and only happened ever since i updated to 6.30 and I updated to latest 6.31 hoping it would fix but it didnt. maybe its something with the config files but I dont want to lose all my settings for this mIRC. since my other installation of mIRC on my PC does not have this problem

anyway. the window buffer is set to 2000 but only keeps about a window or two of chat lines. when I leave my pc for awhile and come back I can see the window scroll is real small( meaning lots of chat) but then when I scroll it becomes bigger, and it just cuts off after I scroll about a page or so.

any one know the fix for this, its quite annoying as I cant see much of what has been said.. thanks for any help!

i've searched, try changing the buffer and still the same thing.
