When trying to receive a file from a bot I get as far as to the "Someone is trying to send..." and I accept, but then the "Connection Failed" message comes after a while and the file doesn't start to download.

I have the "Ignore" option disabled and the DCC SEND and GET option in the LOCK section activated.

I have searched this forum for a solution but have found nothing so far.

When I do the /dns nickname command I get something like:
* Looking up 1fkd6a28.22cbf9e3.telia.com
-
* Unable to resolve 1fkd6a28.22cbf9e3.telia.com

Maybe this can be a clue to what is wrong with my setup.

I am running XP without proxy or firewall on a DSL connection.

Thankful for any ideas!

Connection failed when you are trying to accept is because the person on the other side has a problem with thier "local host" setting in mirc.

Or that person has a firewall and has not set it up properly to send files.

the problem is that this happens all-the-time and also when I try to download from bots. They cant all be having problems, the fault must lie with me...

checked that, nothing on ignore (its not enabled).

How about the error message "Unable to resolve" when I check the IP of my nick as described above?

have you asked someone else to try to resolve it for you? many times one person cant get something to resolve, but others can. could also be a dns problem with you/your isp.

In file/options/connect/localinfo, do you have normal or server set for lookup method?
