Overal i think mIRC 6.31 looks very sexy ( i skipped 6.3 ) and im really pleased with the changes however small they are including the changes in the script editor.

One small thing i would love to see added is auto indenting when you type {<enter> or $&<enter>

and automaticly outdent when typing }<enter> or typing enter on a line that was indented due to $&. Currently if you do:
Code:
command blah blah $&
  more blah blah <enter>
  line starts here

while you would want it to do
Code:
command blah blah $&
  more blah blah <enter>
line starts here

Automatically, i hope i explained that understandable.

This would complete the indenting in the scripts editor.

I am sure that will be the next step in the editor, Mpdreamz. I would imagine that the indenting we have now is there to see how well it works and then add to it in a future version. Of course, that's just speculation, but I don't see why we'd get only this much and never get more. wink

I agree. I like the new look, including the new "main" mIRC icon (although, I'm iffy on it's downsized/16x16 version, as its bevel/3d look is a bit hampered and looks kind of strange, but still looks alright), and I love the other new icons.

Things are looking much cleaner, and I too like the look of the new scripts editor. smile

I'm with Mpdreamz on the suggestions, I'd love auto indenting.

(I'll keep praying for a syntax coloring implementation too (a somewhat configureable one, maybe!))

although that would be nice, i know someone whos making a very nice one called mIDE which is sort of like editPad pro(for those who know of it) and i could pprob make a cheap version. or just search some on the internet. or even,,, decompile it and rewrite it(highly not smart)

Thats not really the issue, i could write my own editor too and im sure others as well and it's been done in the past. I've seen mIDE's screenshots (swiftircer myself :)) and it looks good but having mIDE or what ever else scintilla based 3rd party client does not mean mIRC Scripts editor shouldn't be improved.

lol Rand nice spoiler, auto identing would suit me just fine whatever else would be just icing on the cake imo.

I've used external editors before for mIRC.. Not really my thing since I generally like being able to change tabs back and fourth, and then doing /aliasname, in my active window to see if what I wrote is indeed functioning as intended.

I have Editpad Pro and VIM. I could create a custom syntax highlighter in one of those if I really wanted to do that. Personally, it's not really necessary for me with mIRC Script. It's just something I'd like to see implemented at some point in time. smile
