It would be nice if you could save your logs like every 5minutes or so, because, when your computer shuts down by error, it loses everything. That's not nice. You could decide how often it saves and stuff:)

Logs are saved constantly. A crash should not cause you to lose any logs unless for whatever reason the log file got corrupted by the crash, which isn't very likely. And if that did happen, you'd still have the file, but it would probably not allow writing to it or opening it.

If you aren't getting your logs saved constantly, then check your log settings in mIRC and make sure you do not have a script installed that changes how logs are saved.

It's more likely he meant to slow down the saving of logs, not speed it up.

mIRC (presumably) keeps the log files open all the time, which can cause file corruption if the system is not shut down properly. This was also given as a probable reason for mirc.ini corruption.

If mIRC saved logs at 5 minute intervals then you'd lose a maximum of 5 minutes worth of logs rather than the entire contents.

I guess that makes sense. Still, that could be a lot of writing being done when in a lot of large and active channels. Optionally, that wouldn't be bad. I guess I have never had any issues with it because my system has been very stable since installing XP when it first came out. Since then, crashes have been very rare, so I haven't seen log corruption at all.
