Using mIRC under Vista Ulitmate on an AMD 3500+ w 1GB memory. When I initially start mIRC up it takes 30 secs while I get the spinning circle and before I can do anything with mIRC and connect to a server.

Do you have anti-virus software running? If so, does it still happen if you disable it or "whitelist" (or equivalent) mIRC?

Running any scripts? There are dlls that are known to be incompatible with 6.3 that can cause this problem; I forget where I saw this originally, but I've heard of this issue before and I believe it turned out to be a faulty script/dll

(My mIRC install on vista loads fine.)

I am using scripts but they only are the mIRC script text files. Even after disabling the scripts and restarting mIRC there is no difference.

I added the mirc directory to its whitelist as well as disabling the antivirus and software firewall without any affect.

That processor seems fairly low power for Vista Ultimate. Do other programs load quickly? I have no problem loading mIRC or any other program. Vista Ultimate x64, Intel Core2 Quad Q6600, 4GB RAM, 1TB HD.

There would be something extremely wrong if that computer of yours would not load programs properly, even on system strangling Vista.
