I'm not too sure if this is a bug but it's quite annoying. When using /setlayer 255 it doesn't occur but when I use /setlayer 254 or a number less than that and minimize mIRC to tray and then double click the icon to open again it goes completely black.

If it's a low number (/setlayer 100 lets say) it goes a greyish colour and returns to it's white state when you drag the status window.

I'm using XP Home + SP2.

I wasn't able to reproduce this issue, however this is one of the reasons why I previously prevented /setlayer from setting the transparency for the main mIRC window, it seems to be unreliable for some users. Once the transparency is set by /setlayer, Windows itself handles everything else. So the issue may be related to the graphic card/driver that you are using or perhaps some other system-related issue.

So what's your color depth, and chipset (ati, nvidia, intel, matrox)? See if someone else can reproduce it with the same sort of machine.
