I just downloaded the new version
Went through everything as normal, when it got to actually installing it, the progress bar went about a quarter of the way and then the next screen popped up asking me to check run mIRC or run the readme, i checked both but they didn't open.

I'm using windows vista btw.

Hmm... I checked 'run mIRC' when I installed 6.3 and it worked fine, but I'm on XP. There have been changes to the way mIRC installs on Vista for compatibility reasons.

Have you got any antivirus software installed? If so, try disabling it, then doing a fresh install of 6.3 to a new directory and see if the same thing happens.

All anti-virus software was disabled
I installed to the default directory 'C:\Program Files\mIRC'
And nothing ran when it was installed
And i also installed it to 'C:\mIRC6.3' and it never ran.

I noticed this when trying to uninstall it from my Windows 98 SE computer.

(Which I did, and it happened again.)

After installation were the mIRC files in the c:\Program Files\mIRC folder? Or was it empty? I can't think of a reason why this would happen unless something is preventing mIRC from installing in that folder. The installer should pop up a message if it has any trouble installing a file.

I can't seem to reproduce this here. I install mIRC 6.3 on Windows 98 without a problem and can uninstall it via the Windows control panel without any error messages. Are you sure that the mIRC folder is not being used in some way while you are uninstalling? If you look in the mIRC folder after seeing this message, do you see any files there?

I don't have a c:\Program Files\mIRC folder
I always install to c:\mIRC
All the files were there, It just never opened mIRC or the text file when the 2 check boxes were checked at the end of the installation. I got no errors either.

Which version of Windows are you using? If you try installing into "Program Files\mIRC" and then try the check Run and Help checkboxes, do they open up correctly? If you are running anti-virus software, can you disable it first and then run the installer to see if that resolves the issue?

Windows Vista Home Premium.
Tried all what you've suggested and still the same.
A friend has said it happens to him to.
And just as extra info, i downloaded 6.21 again and checked run mIRC and checked open the help file and both ran as they should.
So it's definitely a change in the latest mIRC to make this happen.

Thanks I've made a change which should resolve this issue in the next version.
