Forums Connection Issues Bad User Errior!

Hello, mIRC Folks.

i keep getting this error when ever i try connecting to mIRC can anyone help please..


Your username is invalid.
Connect with your real username, in lowercase.
If your mail address were foo@bar.com, your username would be foo.

Just type /identd on tyler or something else (in lower case as described in the kill message.

To expand on that, the username that is causing you the problems is your identd user name, which *may* be your e-mail (before the @) if you have it set up that way. Look in Alt-O > IRC > IDENTD. You'll see the user name field. That's your problem. If you have the use e-mail box checked, uncheck it. Then enter anything in the user name field that looks legitimate (ie. not qkjwt). Some networks will complain if you use certain symbols, no vowels, or various other things. Changing it will solve your problem.

You can change it either in the options or using the command that was given to you already. This was just to explain what was going on.

Sir, this is still not working for me.

Press ALT + O.

Go to "connect tab"

And change the email to the username you wish to use.
e.g. I want to use KrisCoz. Ill make my email:

kriscoz@whatever.com
Remember it does not have to be your exact email so,
yourname@whatever.com is good enough to use.
