Does anyone besides myself find this more than just a little annoying?

What's with all that space?

It's just an area capture, not full screen or window. The point is all that blank space on the left, you have to scroll right to read the message. It's very irritating to me.

There's the link to the thread I captured, but it's not the only one that does it. I should have just linked to the thread in the first place instead of a screen capture. I wasn't thinking. whistle

Looks normal for me when I look at the thread. Must be a problem on your end. What browser are you using?

IE7. The screen capture is in flat mode, in threaded mode it looks as it should.

Code blocks on the board in IE seem to have issues, qwerty has told Krejt about the issue. I don't know if anything will be done about it, or IF anything can be done any time soon smile

I have encountered this too but with IE6.

I use IE7 in Flat mode and have never seen a thread look like that. It's possible someone left some tag open or something along those lines. Of course, there are some minor issues with IE and this forum. For example, in IE7 (but not IE6), if someone does a one line code tag that is long enough to need a horizontal scrollbar, I can't see it without quoting the post or replying to it because the scrollbar is in the way and there isn't a vertical scrollbar. It's just something to live with unless you can get the makers of this forum to address the problem. Kreijt said he doesn't plan to make changes to the forum.

I'm looking at the thread in the SpaceTime browser right now and it looks exactly the same as in IE7, but in Firefox it looks perfect.

I've never heard of that browser, but if it has the same problems as IE, then I'm guessing it's not a great browser. IE's issues are related to not following the rules. IE does many things its own way, which means things show up differently in it than in other browsers. That really isn't a good thing, but they have not bothered to change how they handle that. So for those of us who still prefer to use IE, we just have to accept that some things won't show up correctly for us, unfortunately.

Both IE6 and IE7 look fine to me. I do get the same issue as Riamus2 though (with scroll bars).

I believe the Windows version of Spacetime uses IE to render webpages, which is why it displays the same flaw.

Have you tried using other stylesheets from the Preferences section?

It's a 3D browser .. pretty cool. www.spacetime.com
Actually, a better description would be 'a browser with 3D tabs and search'.

We went through this whole ordeal with Krejt a while ago. I don't think a solution was found that worked with IE. I started using Opera because of this problem.

I think it's sad how Microsoft released a brand new IE, but couldn't be troubled to make it conform properly to CSS.

It's only a partial solution, but changing the stylesheet fixed it right up. Maybe it's only a band-aid but it's nothing I would change browsers over, although only two of the eight available worked correctly.

I think the specific issue we addressed before was how IE didn't obey the width CSS property that was set on CODE windows. That caused the rest of the page to become deformed as a result. I problem was made less severe, but was never completely fixed (because of IE's non-compliance).

I now prefer Opera over IE. I particularly like the wand feature. IE has something similar (autocomplete) but it's not quite as useful as 'wand'.
