I tried masking my ip it didn't work oh and I have a legitimate reason for evading.

What kind of ban channel/server/network ? also be aware no one will actually help you EVADE a ban just offer ways to hopefully help you resolve it

There is no such thing as a legitimate reason to evade a ban. If you're not wanted on a channel then you shouldn't go there.

Anything is possible but as I said you wont get help to evade a ban. So leaves you a few options, try find out why you were banned talk to a chanop. without a reason thats about it.

Also note that even if you manage to evade the ban, with a few simple clicks, you'll be banned again. It takes a lot more effort to evade than it does to set another ban.

In addition, if you are caught evading a channel ban, a channel op or the channel owner may contact an IRCop with this information, which, in turn, may end up banning you or (worst case scenario that I can think of) your entire IP from the network.
