Hello users
I saw already some messages about problems with Windows Vista.

I'm using Vista some time ago and got the following troubles:
Impossible to start any version of mIRC.exe (i try with 6.21, 6.20)and it's not more possible to un-install them the official way. The installation i try in different folders and drives. The installation process working always fine. Everytime i want to start mIRC.exe (or when i will de-install) i get the following:
>>> Administrator rights missing, no access...

I'm the one and only user with full rights on my machine.

Any ideas?

Thanks for help!

Roland

Make sure that you're signed in to Vista as an Administrator.
I don't use Vista myself, but to my understanding, Administrator accounts are not used by default with Vista, contrary to the configuration with XP.

I'm in as administrator with full permission. + There is a way to open every program with admin rights. But it don't help. After this i desactivate the full user management. Same result.

I installed about 50 programs in Vista and all working very fine > Games, Appz, Freeware, VIRC, etc. the same way, but mIRC.exe is the only one with these troubles.

Thanks anyway, for this try

Which version of Vista are you using? And is it a 32-bit or 64-bit version?

I've heard of some weird bugs with UAC - try disabling it...

I doubt this will help you but its worth a try.

Thanks for the idea. I disabled UAC already... u know the answer...

I don't know if its a bug in Win or in mIRC, because i get this error only when i try to execute the mirc.exe.

Very strange situation. The only thing I can think of is if you've disabled something specific like Data Virtualisation or the Application Information System but if that were the case I would have expected disabling UAC to fix the problem (I'm only guessing though since I don't have Vista available to check).

The good news at least is that the next version of mIRC should be fully Vista compliant and so there should be absolutely no reason for this problem to occur once it comes out.

The best way is to wait then for the next release.
Any idea what date it will come out?

There isn't ever a date given prior to release. Once Khaled has had time to find all possible Vista problems and fix them, then tests everything to avoid possible bugs, it will be released. Just wait until then.
