OP STING Vogon poet S Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 122 The Netherlands	Hello, Is there a way to determine why /splay can't play a file, such as a MP3? I myself have no problems, but an user reported having problems playing a specific MP3, while I have no problem. Perhaps a method outside mIRC? Any help will be appreciated. BorgIRC

starbucks_mafia Hoopy frood S Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 2,962 Norwich, UK	mIRC uses Windows Media Player's routines to play music files which is why support for files is basically dependant on the user's machine. You might suggest the user re-install or update WMP to see if that fixes the issue. Spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, and stupid comments are intentional.

New in 6.21, if you turn all sounds off in mIRC, /splay and /beep are also disabled. If it's just a specific MP3, then as starbucks_mafia said, have the person update WMP.
