Are the DCC ports range fixed in mIRC 6.2?
Because its been bothering me since FOREVER...
mirc is really a pain to use with DCC
if i specify a large range, it will probably work until the range is exceeded, but then you have to restart mirc to get it back on track again
i had to code a dcc bot/client to send to a friend that had a load of blocked outgoing ports smirk

Any contiguous range you want between 1025 and (I think) 65535.

mIRC just won't send anything if the range is "exceeded". But how many files are you sending at one time? 10 ports is usually enough. The port numbers get reused.

Why? The receiver doesn't have to have ports forwarded, only the sender does.

Are you saying that mirc is NOT reusing ports after it is done with them?

it might have been that the port was being used, Skype was using port 80
but, there might be a bug
worth checking out

Nothing to do with dcc ports.

It might help if you explained what the bug is more clearly.

Om3n got it right, where you just quoted me on pretty much all i said
which makes me wonder if you have no idea what you are talking about
im sure the maker, khaled, knows what this is all about
i cant confirm there is any problems with the dcc port range
but i know there used to be
i havent read the mirc changelog if there is one

If you can't confirm a problem, and none of us have this "problem", then, I'm pretty sure the only problem is that you havn't read the help file.

And I'm willing to bet a few bottles of ceaser dressing that khaled has no idea what you're talking about.

try the search function... there have been complaints about ports not being released before... can't remember if it was windows or mIRC's problem though

If it ain't broken, don't fix it!
