it'd be nice if you added the ability for scripts to display text in a tool tip when someone hovers over a nickname.

i can think of several applications.

There's got to be a DLL out there that can popup a tooltip anywhere... After you find that DLL, it's just a matter of using the :hotlink: event and $mouse.x and $mouse.y to popup the tooltip.

The on hotlink event does not support hovering over nicklists, so it would only work if you hover over a nick in the channel that has said something/set a mode.

True. From their post though, I don't think that they were talking about the nicklist's. I could be wrong though.

Yep, he hasn't really specified exactly what he had in mind, so we can only guess. If he only wants it to work on nicks in the channel window (not the nicklist) then it is actually not so hard to script with indeed the on hotlink and a picwin. The picwin will not be a balloon, but a regular rectangle should suffice anyway.
