Every time I go to install mIRC on my comp, I get pretty much all the way through the process but at the very end of the progress bar it stops workign when it says, "extracting file: urls.ini". Then a minute later i get, "Program not responding" from windows and I have to stop the whole installation and start over, this just repeats again and again. What should I do??

For problems installing:

1. Make sure you have enough free disk space.
2. For Windows 95/98/ME close all programs and use the windows explorer to delete all the files in

\windows\temp

Do not delete the TEMP folder! Only the file inside it.

3. Reboot your computer and have no programs open when doing the install.

4. disable your antivirus program is you have one running.

5. If all this fails to make it load normally you better check for computer viruses.

Had you clicked on the link Nimue kindly posted, you would have seen:
Most installation processes that specifically stop with urls.ini extract problems are caused by DDE conflicts with applications running in the background during mIRC's installation. As clearly advised when installing mIRC; close all (*all*) other applications before you start mIRC's installation.

As the original poster described exactly this, it is highly unlikely their prob would have anything to do with corrupt files or trojans.
