If you mean using the IP addresses, yes you can.
Open DOS and type nslookup irc.undernet.org to find out the IP address. Repeat that command for other networks you have an interest in. Some replies will provide you with more than one answer.

Goto the Start menu and click Run..., in the box type cmd and click Ok, this will open MS-DOS. Now just type in the command Watchdog gave you.

You must be using 9X version of Windows. I think nslookup client is only in NT flavours. My fault, I should have let you know of this.
Another way is to use mIRC command line and use this command /dns irc.undernet.org. It won't give you a huge list though it should reply with one IP that you can try.

The entire point is though that his name server clearly isn't resolving those hostnames. Using /dns from mIRC of nslookup from Windows won't change that (unless he specifies a different name server via nslookup).
Spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, and stupid comments are intentional.

He didn't mention anything about name servers. What he did mention that he doesn't feel that he has enough command line experience to use the commands he was given.
I quote: maybe its the IP address.... can you please do it for me (i mean getting the IP addresses of any Undernet and ChatX servers) coz i dont know how to use DOS... pls.... thanks!
Accordingly he was given the IP's by The Game, who just happened to arrive back here before I did.

- To me that's a pretty clear indication that the name server he's using isn't resolving the hostnames and so any DNS which doesn't specifically use a different nameserver will also fail.

It could also be internal. I have an NT4 box that won't allow connections via a hostname, yet all other machines do (the joy of networking). Good thing that box is only a webserver. Still you may be right, we'll wait and see.

Perhaps you should look in C:\WINNT\System32\NSLOOKUP.EXE then. To me that looks like a factory floor install of NSLOOKUP. It is available in NT4, Windows 2000 Professional/Server/Advanced Server, Windows XP Home/Professional and Windows 2003 (.NET).
I don't know who wrote it or what OS originally had it and I care even less. The fact remains that it is available in the above-listed OS's.
