I received the following message:

9http://www.xforce.info/mIRC.Patch.13b.exe - 4A new mIRC worm has recently been released, please download and run this patch, or go to www.mIRC.com for further info. It is important that you patch your mIRC A.S.A.P to avoid getting infected by the sObe0-N12 mIRC worm

Is this genuine ?

If such a worm exists then noone has posted about it here.

"Patch" is probably a virus, don't touch it.

Edit: I uploaded the file to the wonderful Jotti's malware scan, both AntiVir and NOD32 think it is questionable. Probably a program that downloads and installs a trojan onto your computer.

This is old and yeah it's a trojan if I recall right.

Of course it's a worm/trojan/virus. mIRC 'patches' are always and only released on the official download site www.mirc.com/get.html Any .exe link posted on IRC is almost guaranteed to be malicious in some way.

Yes i confirm that the size has a modified and hidden mIRC. I have been able to locate the place..
