Forums Connection Issues Bypass my schools network lol

Ok heres the thing. I love mirc, but my school doesnt seem to like it.
They have this system where they scan the ports of everysingle student in the dorms to make sure we dont have malicious software or other forms of "illegal" things running on our computers. More specifically, they scan the ports, and screw me over.

Here lies the problem, when I'm recieving files from people there are certain ports open. My school associates those ports as "malicious" when im recieving, therefore they block my internet connection.

My question is, is there any way to associate those ports with something like "starcraft" so that when they scan my ports they will see me recieving files, but not see it as MIRC or something "malicious"?

This forum does not help with bypassing network security.

You could always ask the Admins to un-block it.

-edit- The reason Im helping is because I know of schools which block IRC which is silly, especially for college students. It's just text. Most dangers on it come from DCC file transfers, which are through TCP/IP not the server anyway. These can be blocked without blocking entire access to IRC. Good luck.

Well of course it's silly, but they're just trying to secure their
network that is supposed to be for educational purposes and
is a privilege to use for such purposes, not a right to bypass
their security.

of course some might argue that, if a security fence is errected around a building, but they leave one of the walls off, is walking through that missing spot breaching the secuirty?

Doubly so, if they never informed you that the building is sealed off, they just did it, and didnt expect you to be able to get in (or out)

Well, I don't think changing the DCC ports is something wrong:

Go to:

Tools-> Options -> Connect -> Options

Click on the Advanced button, check the DCC box,
change your first port to anything you want (20 maybe),
change your last port to anything you want as well (80 might work),
click the Randomize ports box.

There... different ports for DCC!

Why no one else would say this... censorship!
