In the scripts editor press ctrl-f & search for `$+("`
then press ctrl-f again, note the " is now missing from the search string

I did originally post that I couldn't confirm this, until hixxy notified me that I shouldn't take the quotes into consideration. In which case, it does indeed occur smile

Confirmed. If " is the first or last character in the search term mIRC will remove it.

I am able to reproduce this. The enclosing ` chars aren't included, if that's what made the difference.

I reloaded 5.91 to test this there, it did Not drop the "

I reloaded (fresh install) 6.16 and it Did drop the " also

so this isnt a new issue, just maybe recently caught?

I tested with 6.12 and did not drop too
