As far as I know, a lot of their servers have been down recently. Check their website for more details if it's been updated.

You can check on their web page to see linked servers you can try. Recently criten had some probs with attacks and some ircd changes they made, so the server you are trying may not be linked or may be restricted in some way. You can check the thread at the top of this forum here for an explanation of that error.

Does anyone know if irc.criten.net is up yet? I keep getting a 'connection refused' message for a month now. What's the deal?

If you get that message then it's probably not back up yet.

I get the same message for IRC.gamesnet.net for like weeks but I was able to get on it briefly yesterday so then I logged of for a few hours and now I can't get back on. Go figure.

You may just have to stick with an alternate network until it goes back up. By the way, if there is a webpage for that network have you checked for any alternate servers? Just a suggestion is all...

hehe, Like irc.mcdonalds.com, for a limited time you can log in but you'll have to go to the waiting bay for 20 mins while we reheat an apple pie for you. MUAAHAHA.

whats ironic about your reply...McDonalds by the end of the year will have 300 stores that will allow people to connect to the internet for free for one hour...so it may be possible to chat while waiting for your hot apple pie LOL
