Why not implement UPnP to greatly improve compatibility now that many hardware support it.

It is now supported by eMule (via mods) or BitComet (a bittorent client).

Thank you for the good job done with mIRC smile

Next time use the Search option before making posts that are almost duplicates to those already in existance.

Why are you comparing mIRC to those programs? mIRC is not a file sharing program.

I think the main issue is with DCC, outgoing DCC's require a listening port for each session, it can be a hassle setting this up if your router/firewall doesn't have layer 7 logic supporting the IRC protocol, such as netfilter in the Linux kernel.

UPnP would be useful in this regard.

I search but i realise after that search was limited to 1 week by default...

The 2 examples I gave are P2P programs, I know, but they are both open source so it would be very helpful smile
