I can't join any channel, it just stops after saying " MOTD file is missing" followed by "ltlump sets mode:+x". It doesn't respond when I use /join. I lost the ability to use commands while in a channel, so I quit and couldn't join since then I have reinstalled it several times, with no success.

Try a different server on that network. The MOTD is a file that is stored on the server, and I can't see any reason why it would stop you from being able to join channels, chat, or whatever else it is that you do online.

Although mIRC should still recognize commands even if this is true... check Alt-O > Other > Command Prefix. See if it's something other than /.

The command prefix was /, I guess that server was just crap. It works on other ones.

Which network was it? Some (family) networks are moderated and
do not allow unregistered nicks to join channels or message users.

~ Edit ~
Although there should be some kind of error message from the server.

It could also be that you are 'shunned'. You would still be able to connect, but you would only be able to use a few select commands. Try using the /admin command. It is often excluded from the shun restrictions.

I get an error saying raw422: MOTD file missing when i try to connect to my bouncer with this line:

/server bouncers.bilstabnc.co.uk 3333 [pass] -i vdesire`eNTy` vdesire`eNTy [username]@

and it says this on connect

As far as I know this is a server issue. The server admin has not got an message of the day file to be displayed when clients connect. Nothing you can do about that, other than speak to the server admin.

edit: Whoops, I see the proper issue is you're disconnecting. As said in prior posts (which I've now read!) raw 422 should not be the reason for the disconnection. Without any error messages it's difficult to pinpoint why you're disconnecting. Does it happen if you don't connect via your BNC?

Regards,

I HAVE SAME PROBLEM. BUT I FOUND THE EASIEST WAY TO FIX IT.
RE-INSTALL IRC!
IT PROBABLY NOT SERVER'S TROUBLE.
I COULDN'T FIND THE WAY, I JUST RE-INSTALLED
PLZ BACK UP YOUR IRC PROGRAMME IF YOU HAVE ANY UPDATE TO YOUR SCRIPT. THAT'S THE BEST WAY:)
