Yeah ok, most of these suggestions are things that are already possible. I ask.. scratch that beg that you guys please, oh please please please add audio spectrum $'s

So we can make bar graphs and scopes and all those other trippy audiospectrum things we can dream up. for the spectrum we'd need atleast 10 new commands. It would work on the current playing mp3, breaking the hz spectrum up into 10 seperats each a range of hz. I'm thinkin $aspec(1) thru $aspec(10) or somethin to make it easy for scriptin. anyways, each command would give off it's curent value in that hz range. maybe even add control of hz range (EQ). Maybe only 7 band not 10, then we can toss vars inbetween hz ranges and average them out to take the place of another Hz var for audio spectrum display.. Make sence? lol

Hi there,

this isn't a 'chat forum', IRC is for chatting smile - you can find about how to install and connect to IRC with mIRC on the how to install page.

I believe the purpose of the suggestion is something to allow him to make visualisations in a mirc scripted audio player. personally i think this crosses the line between mirc and media player

I agree, and in my opinion this isn't something we all want, as he states in the subject, since if it was something that we all wanted, it probably would've been requested long ago and/or by many people.

Although it could be interesting, I don't see it being added into mIRC itself. However, I am certain a DLL could be made to get that data from a song.

Granted not as in depth as your asking for both fmod_mirc.dll and DX_MEDIA.dll support visualisations with the latter even supporting winamp DSP visuals! such as this one smile

How about adding the ability to sample Hz for currently playing song? It wouldn't be a big addition to mIRC...

$insong.hz - Returns the current frequency of the song that's playing...

Then using $song(filename).sample to determine the frequency range. Break that in to bands... etc...

Although I don't know if mIRC's scripts would be fast enough to handling sampling a song often enough to make an good EQ possible. As far as the visualizations, that can already be done with DLL's.
