I have seen many websites with some sort of IRC script added to their website making it possible for clients to connect via irc using a website.

If anyone has a TUT or a link providing information about this it would be greatly appreciated.

Look up jIRC on Google. There are also many other java irc clients out there and even some CGI IRC clients.
