I try to connect and it always says this:

Connect with your real username, in lowercase.
If your mail address were foo@bar.com, your username would be foo.

i tryed a whole bunch o names, i use to be able to conect with mIRC until i uninstalled it from my old computer and downloaded it on my laptop. I'm trying to log in my clans channel witch is on the gamesurge server. why does it keep doing this?

The bad user could possibly be in the Connect > Identd section use something simple like peter or john and stay away from a mixture of upper and lowercase

Remember that your username and nickname are not the same thing and thus any restrictions on either one may not apply to the other.

In general, keep usernames to lower-case, alpha-numeric text.

To set a username (ident): /identd on <usermame>
Example: /identd on dood

EVRY TIME I GET TOWHERE I SIGN IN IT SAYS MY PASSWORD IS WRONG YET WHEN I TYPE /NS REGISTER PASSWORD EMAIL IT SAYS MY NAME IS REGISTERED THEN I TRY AGAIN AND IT SAYS PASSWORD IS INCORRECT COULD YOU PLAEASE HELP ME

You should make sure that your password is being typed in correctly. Most IRC networks with nickname registration use a case sensitive password. If you still have trouble, try using /ns sendpass <your_nick>

If that command isn't available, review the nickserv help information with /ns help and find the proper command...presuming there is one. If you still are having trouble, then try joining the networks help channel, usually #help and ask for assistance.

Did you activate your account? You will get an e-mail with instructions on activating it. Until then, you can't log into it and you can't re-register it until after the activation time period has expired (usually about 3 days).

Beyond that, please don't type in caps.
