I noticed today that my commands to return my ip...

menu menubar {
MyServ
.IP Dump:/echo $ip
.IP Channel Dump:/say $ip
}

doesn't return my IP address, just blankness.

Particularly..

IP Dump:/query $$1 IP Address: $ip

Also was any my aliases and other quick methods of retrieving or sharing my IP don't seem to be working. I'm using mirc 6.16 with winXP Sp2 and Norton Firewall 2005.

I don't recall this ever being an issue before.

Any ideas?

If your local info is not being updated correctly, you can try manually updating it with /localinfo -h.

Also, look to make sure you dont have an aliases called 'ip'

/localinfo -h will normally return your internal IP

//!localinfo -u will return your external IP
or you can add something to popups to return it when you right click

$ip: { return }
this way you'll know if it caught the right ip

hope this helps

/localinfo -h returns my IP but that doesn't make my posting my IP for my friends any easier. The whole idea was to eliminate the NEED to copy and paste it.

I did have an alias ip, but like i said this wasn't a problem before. I got rid of the ip alias and it still doesn't work.

What else would be wrong with it? Should I just go back to an old version of mirc?

Just type $IP<tab> as dave suggested, if even this does not work then either your just not connected to the server or you still have an alias somewhere interfering.
