My computer *gasp* died while mIRC was saving a hash table. The hash table, roughly 3mb in size was destroyed. However, I've been able to recover most of it by opening it up in notepad. I'd like to see mIRC's various save commands (save, hsave, saveini, etc) have an option flag to backup the file before writing, which will backup, save, and remove the backup after successful save.
Forgot something, so I'm editing my post...
If mIRC starts up and backups exist, it should load the backups. Perhaps the backups should be put in a backup folder or something like that, as to not interfere with whatever scripts include their own backup function.
