In Xchat under Linux the standard charset is set to UTF-8.
In mIRC, the charset is somthing else ??? and none of the special chars written in each others IRC clients can be read by the other client. Wasent it an idea to make UTF-8 support in mIRC, so that the encoding of asian, greek and nordic languages dont have the trouble reading other caracters?

Just an idea that would make life a bit more easy.

UTF-8 support has been planned for a while now (at least since 2003):

There was a thread about it just a few days ago, but unfortunately it disappeared off the page.
